Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son made that statement at a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City on August 11.

After the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was inked, the Agreement will come into effect in early 2016, which helps reduce tariffs on Viet Nam’s items including garment, footwear and agriculture-forestry-aquatic products into Russia.

Viet Nam is the sole nation enjoying the advantages from the EEU, which increases Vietnamese products’ competitiveness.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working with Russian ministries and agencies to reduce tariffs on Viet Nam’s products to the Viet Nam High-quality Goods Fair in Moscow 2015, Mr. Son revealed.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will organize two trade promotion forums to assist Vietnamese enterprises to get access to the Russian market.

The Viet Nam High-quality Goods Fair in Moscow 2015 will be held from November 12-December 12.
